My students are third graders at an elementary school. My 23 third graders come to school every day eager to learn and ready for a challenge. I love creating a classroom environment in which all students' needs are met. I engage students with a variety of learning strategies and alternative seating options to facilitate group work to help ensure that all students can reach their potential and learn 21st century skills that will allow them to become meaningful contributors and leaders of our classroom and at our school.
My Project
The Surf Writing Desk would be an amazing addition to my classroom. The Surf is a portable writing surface which ensures that students have a space for their chrome books, notebooks, papers etc. wherever they need it in the classroom!
This alternative seating option would give students the opportunity to work in other areas of the classroom than simply at their desk which can become monotonous.
The Surf also doubles as a chair and lets students work comfortably in a classroom chair or on the floor with partners. It allows for me to easily change student partners and give them an area to work comfortably other than their desk. This will definitely help students to collaborate and discuss with varied partners more easily.
