My Project
I have been reading the books of Dr. Nicki Newton for about a year. I have taken one of her online courses and have been watching her youtube videos and reading her blog. Her work is by far the most accessible, organized, and helpful information on teaching math that I have ever read. After years in the upper grades, I was assigned to first grade this year. I am hoping to have access to Dr. Nicki's online courses so I can continue to learn and grow as an early elementary math teacher. I have implemented many of her ideas this year and know I can improve with more opportunities to learn, reflect, and put my knowledge into action.
