Always In Need of Snacks And Tissue Boxes

My Students

My students are sharp, talented, hardworking, and motivated to work. They come from diverse backgrounds and belong to one of the low-income neighborhoods in our country.

To provide and implement effective teaching strategies and constant support through differentiation, I do need some teaching supplies that the school is unable to provide.

We have been teaching online since October and now are getting ready to head back to the in-person classrooms.

This is my first year teaching at Norfork Public school.

I was allowed to get in the building and see my class in September. It is a beautiful spacious class with empty shelves, no rug, no teaching tools.

It's nothing compared with the school I have taught in before.

The building has been donated and the school doesn't have the ability to support all of its teachers financially. I strongly believe in inequality. I know how having access to the right educational tools can make a difference in students' understanding of any subject.

I need a small library with books for my low and high groups.

I need math, reading, and writing manipulatives for my centers to teach my students through hands-on experiences and visual activities.

My Project

My students eat lunch at 11:15. Our dismissal is scheduled for 4:15. By 2:00 o'clock everyone is hungry and they usually ask for a snack, especially on rainy days when we spend our break in the classroom.

Because I teach in a low-income area, I have provided my students with small-sized masks, afternoon snacks, and tissue boxes myself since they weren't provided by either the school or parents.

I spend a fortune on water bottles, snacks, and tissue boxes every week.

It was only last week when one of my colleagues told me that I could ask for help here on Donors Choose and get some support from you. This is my first time asking for these supplies that we really need on daily basis.
