Alternative Energy For A Better World

My Students

Our students will face many challenges as an overpopulated world consumes natural resources faster than the earth can produce it. There is an imperative need to seek alternative sources of energy for our future generations survival.

I teach 8th grade General Science in a suburban middle school to my regular classes and an Earth Science Regents course to my advanced students.

I also teach an inclusion class with another teacher where there is special education students mixed with the general education students.

My Project

With the Horizon H-Racer with Hydrogen Station, I hope to use it as a demonstration to show students how hydrogen could be used as an alternative source of energy for future forms of transportation as water is a renewable resource as well as a clean energy source. The Solar Hydrogen Education Kit can be used by the students to invent their own clean energy applications using fuel cells and renewable hydrogen using the sun and water.

Having this equipment will add to what I already have in my classroom to help students see that alternative energy is the new cutting edge of science that can help solve our world's dependency on fossil fuels as well as its effects on climate change.
