Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We are a special education resource classroom of 12 students in 3rd, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade. We want and need to meet our academic, social-emotional and independent/executive functioning goals so that we continue to close the gap between us and our general education peers. The instructional tools and equipment in our project will help us meet that goal.
We want to build upon the great gains we made last year and come even closer to meeting our goals in our individualized educational plans.
We are very close to meeting our goals and these things will help our classroom continue to be the place where we can calm our minds and our bodies so that we can focus better as we learn in math, science, social studies, reading and writing. We have students that are deaf/hard of hearing so the little microphones will help us communicate with each other. The standing desk will help Ms. Wilson when she needs to project something from her laptop to the Promethean Board. The document camera will help Ms. Wilson project and show us how to write different things for our assignments because it will show us exactly how to write them. The clipboards will let us move to different areas of our class, where we feel most comfortable and focus to complete our assignments. The building blocks are great because they help us calm our anxiety and also helps us think creatively, outside of the box.
