My Students
My students are part of our Academy of Information Technology, a four year Information Technology program. Students learn Introduction to Information Technology (Year 1), Digital Media(Year 2), Web Design(Year 3), and Computer Science Principles(Year 4).
We are a STEM/STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) school.
Currently our Academy of IT has just under 200 students in grade 9-12. More than half of my students are from low-income households. My classroom infuses STEM/STEAM into the curriculum to allow student to have a cross curriculum instruction that incorporate their other subject areas.
Students in the Academy participate in a summer internship as part of the program for high school or college credit. Students gain hands on work experience by supporting the community.
My Project
Our classroom doesn't have many supplies and I am wanting to create a classroom that is up to date with technology for students needs. The HP Printer and toner will be used for students to be able to print their assignments and summer internship paperwork. The Dymo Label printer, file folders and plastic folders will be used to help our students get ready for their summer Internship (Which is a lot of paperwork) by keeping their files organized and labeled.
This project is to help students to be able to print, and get "Career Ready" with their summer Internships.
The other supplies are to keep the classroom clean and organized, so cables are no longer in the way.
