Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a physical therapist and I travel from school to school to work with my students. Some schools have a lot of tools to address the needs of the kids but other schools do not.

These tools will help me address the needs of all my students by allowing them to progress and move with confidence and skill.

Each tool addresses mobility, balance and safety to improve accessibility to the school environment and curriculum.

The balance beam is to encourage balance but also works on focusing on the surroundings around them to improve safety. The Bosu ball encourages children that cannot jump to begin to initiate the sequence and motion of jumping which progresses the ability to jump off the ground or off a step. The steppingstone work on balance and maneuverability and grows students' confidence levels as they learn to manage and maneuver on their own.

It would be a great addition to each of my student's progress to have consistent tools to work with in every school that I go to enrich their lives.
