it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember what it was like when you were in school? Were you engaged in your learning? Did you have the opportunity to explore concepts using hands-on activities? Benjamin Franklin once said, “Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.” I want all of my students to have the opportunity to get involved in their learning.
I am a kindergarten teacher who takes every opportunity to engage students in their learning.
My kindergarten students will blossom this year; they will learn how to read and write. I have high expectations for my students and want them to succeed in everything that they do.
For a five year old, learning to read can be overwhelming. It is my job to give students plenty of opportunities to investigate and get involved in their learning. My goal is to guide and build a strong foundation that will help them become long life learners.
My Project
My Students need various hands-on activities that will let them explore reading concepts in new and interesting ways. They need a listen and learn letter sounds activity program, sound it out word stretchers, letter of the day activities CD-ROM, and change a sound flip books. These activities will reinforce what is taught in class.
Students will also be able to explore the alphabet, learn letter sounds, and read word families. These skills are essential for learning how to read. These activity sets will get my students involved in their learning because it will challenge them to work together and explore literacy concepts in depth.
I want my students to achieve their utmost potential by learning to work and learn together.
You can be sure that your generosity will make a difference in my classroom. I appreciate you taking the time to read my proposal.
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
