My Students

Our campus is an elementary school, kindergarten through sixth grade. We are a diverse Title I campus, where our free and reduced-price lunch percentage is around 64%. We have over 450 students, all of whom offer unique strengths and capabilities. (We love our students!) Our students are fun, compassionate, grateful, and eager to come to school as our school is a safe place for our students. Our students have a unique interest in music, as we are a music academy. Our students begin learning about music as early as Kindergarten and have the option to be in Chorus, Handbells, and Orchestra (to name a few).

My Project

At our elementary school, our vision is simple: "The school community ensures all students succeed." In an effort to do so, we are asking for help in providing alternative seat options for those in need. By providing our students with the option of a flexible seat, you are helping support students who may fall into one of the following categories:

-A student who is on an IEP (Individualized Educational Plan)

-504 Accommodation plan (this plan helps students access his or her learning because of a diagnosed disability like ADHD or the inability to perform life functions due to a medical condition)

-A student who may need the ability to move in order to focus better

-A student who enjoys being able to have choice within his or her classroom and thus, is more motivated to work/learn.

When, we, as a staff, work to provide an accommodation such as flexible seating we are working to promote a safe, engaging, and respectful learning environment for future success for all of our students.
