I love how my class can give them a break from using laptops for assignments all day and a chance to move, be silly, and connect with each other!
I use the game Battleship to teach stage directions in a fun way by dividing it into parts of a stage. Guess Who is great for building vocabulary to create character traits, especially when we try to describe the characters as the jobs, personalities, and hobbies each one might have. Realistic looking props like food, money, and costume items help students to get into (and stay!) in character during practice scenes, improvisation exercises, and full blown productions.
