Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are an urban population with all the earmarks of a struggling city. We have less new materials, and the one we have are not enough for every teacher, than other schools. I feel that my students are special because they face this every day and still come to school. And want to learn. They are eager to learn all that is available to them but it is very difficult to do some things virtually. They need the hands-on experience to make the materials relevant.
My Project
I am looking for some materials that are hard to duplicate on my own. Some of the things we need I just can't make on my own. They are precision materials made to follow concepts that they need to know. My students need a Synthetic Blood kit because blood typing is very hard to understand until you see the reaction firsthand.
The density blocks are precisely manufactured to be the same and represent specific concepts that I can't explain as well as with a physical object in my hand to show the students.
I am hoping that these materials make the concepts easier to understand.
