Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are moderate/severe with multiple disabilities. They enjoy reading independently and being read to. My students are from high school up to 22 years of age with varying cognitive levels and verbal skills.

We spend many happy hours in our school library reading, checking out books and doing activities.

We have a new library in the classroom and need to fill up our shelves.

Helping to fund our little classroom library would be amazing and significantly enhance our students school day. After they have completed their individual academic work they love to sit on the couches and look at the picture books and silently read. Learning literacy skills creates a bridge for all other subjects, creates a connection for the student with the school community and the community at large.

Our students will appreciate this gift of literacy immensely.
