All-Star Kids Need All-Star Book Baskets!

My students need sturdy, durable book bins, boxes, and labels to allow for organization of our classroom library.

FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Trudnowski's classroom raised $521

My Students

My classroom has a fairly large classroom library thanks to shopping at thrift stores, "used book" sales, and bonus points earned through book orders. Unfortunately, our books are kept in an unorganized hodge-podge of broken down dollar store baskets and cardboard boxes! We need sturdy book bins!

My very creative and enthusiastic class is called "The Second Grade All-Stars", because we love baseball!

Our classroom has a baseball theme - our table groups are named after bases (1st base, 2nd base, etc.), and our class meeting area is called the "All-Star Dugout". My students love to read fiction and nonfiction books, and they love to complete book reports - last year we read and completed book reports for 903 books! There are over a dozen languages spoken in my class, and most of my students receive free/reduced price lunch. We are always so grateful for any support given to our class, and we love to write thank you notes! Thank you for your support! Sincerely, Mrs. T.

My Project

Thanks to scrimping and saving over the years, shopping at garage sales and thrift stores, and using book order bonus points, my classroom has a fairly large library (Hooray!). Unfortunately, there has been no way to purchase STURDY book baskets so that the books can be organized and displayed properly! Right now our books are in broken and cracked dollar store baskets and cardboard boxes. It's time our books had permanent, happy, organized homes in sturdy, durable book baskets with pocket labels from Lakeshore Learning! These book baskets will make it easier for the students to choose books at their "Just Right" reading level, as well as select books that are at their "interest" level (i.e. Animal books)! In addition, using these book baskets will reinforce the important concepts of responsibility, organization, and how to take good care of books!

My students will now be able to choose books easily because our classroom library will be so incredibly organized with these colorful, durable Lakeshore Learning book baskets!

They will learn responsibility and organizational skills by keeping track of "which books go where"! Thank you so much for your support!
