My Project

A lot of these items are small items you don't even really think of when creating a DonorsChoose project. I would like to order a variety of items for my classroom to attend to all of the different students' needs and their abilities. The best part about my classroom is I serve in a classroom of students ages 11-14, or 6-8th grade. This means that not only will all of these materials be beneficial for my students this school year, but for the following years too, as I am majority of these students homeroom teacher for 3 years. My classroom environment allows each student to be celebrated for their individuality and unique qualities. Students will benefit from each of these individual items in a variety of ways. File folders are fantastic to use with my students, and I cannot do this without laminating sheets and Velcro! I also do a ton of social emotional learning in my class, so I would love to get the Little SPOT of Emotions books to help enhance what I am already teaching! Each student has their own personalized IEP goal relating to social emotional learning - this bundle would allow me to center their goals around the different books and activities the Little Spot of Emotion allows for. Adding a bean bag chair would help create more of a comfortable environment in our sensory area. Right now there is just a large mat on the floor, so it would be great to have a place to sit! A slant board is another must - I have many students who would benefit having a slant board to support upright posture and less change of positioning. I hope to acquire all of these materials in order to help enhance my students success toward their IEP goals!
