Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In first grade, we use a lot of materials to show our understanding on skills. These materials are so handy, however we do run out of them quickly and need to restock them! That is the reason for our project.
My students and I are seeking black and blue Expo markers, pearl erasers and pencil erasers, highlighters, dry erase contact paper, and large scissors.
The Expo markers are used for quick checks during the day. Students are able to practice what they are learning on tables and on their wipe off boards. We use two different colors to identify patterns in words, identify vocabulary we are using, and to show our understanding of skills with different colors. We are also seeking erasers to use for our pencils. The large pearl erasers are nice because they last a long time, and students have them available for large pencils mistakes. We also have pencil erasers listed for students to have for immediate use. The next item we have listed is for no-bleed highlighters. We highlight words we are working on in stories. Often when we do this, the highlighter bleeds onto the back page and it makes it difficult to use the other side of our sheets. These highlighters are no-bleed highlighters, so they prevent this from happening. We also have dry erase contact paper listed. This is so that we can turn our table tops into a tool for students to practice what they are learning with Expo markers. We also have large scissors listed, so that I can cut out student tools, resources, and supplies easily throughout the school year. We hope you can support us with this project, and thank you for taking time to read about it!
