My Project
Second grade students are curious, active investigators. I want to increase their time engaging in hands-on science activities. Microscopes allow students to discover a world hidden from their view. We will conduct plant experiments with the biosphere. The science kits will give us models to explore science not within our reach.
Science activities develop critical thinking skills, communications skills, and appreciation for our natural world.
When done well, science also provides high interest reading and writing opportunities, as well as authentic math applications. It is the favorite part of my students' day.
