Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach Earth Science in an urban school where all of my students are classified as low-income. My students come to class eager and ready to learn, and my program has been steadily growing.
I want to make sure that I have the necessary supplies so that my students can complete the new required lab investigations.
The State has changed the curriculum and lab requirements for my course and I need to update and adjust my materials to align with the new science standards.
Students learn best when they can manipulate the materials, and the new investigations will require the students to work in small groups and perform several trials of the experimemts/simulations. I want to ensure that I have enough supplies for all of my students.
