This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are one of a kind. I recently told them I was battling a headache and gave them permission to leave our Zoom session a few minutes early. Instead of rushing to leave, I noticed many hands go up.
One by one, they offered me words of advice and encouraged me to drink tea with honey and lemon.
I admire their positive, thoughtful attitude.
My Project
Giant floor puzzles will help my students break away from screen time and enjoy some much needed hands on activity time. Puzzles help children with their fine motor skills and concentration. These type of activities also help students with social skills and language development.
After so much time spent in isolation in front of a screen, working on a puzzle will provide my students with the opportunity to problem solve in a fun way.
They will have the freedom to get out of their seat, sit on the floor, and tackle a task that is both educational and enjoyable.
