All Girls Charter School Supplies

My Students

I teach at an all girls, Title I school on the Lower East Side in Manhattan. The girls in my class are predominantly from low income families and are mostly Black or Hispanic. Our school is devoted to empowering our future female leaders by holding them to a high academic standard, teaching them social and emotional skills, and infusing joy throughout our day!

My Project

We would love a reading rug to help provide literacy instruction in our classroom! A rug would make our tile floor more cozy! A pencil sharpener would be so helpful because the one I have for the class broke and we of course need sharp pencils for our math skills, writing, and all of our work throughout the day! We will be using them in our third grade classroom to help us close the achievement gap at our Title I school!
