My students need books on bullying and two Kindle Fires to use during our literacy block. They will be able to read online books and access websites dealing with friendship and bullying.

My Students
Bullying is a huge problem in schools across the United States and elementary schools are no exception. It is important for elementary school children to learn how to be good friends, be respectful and how to deal with bullies.
I teach twenty-two second graders in a very large elementary school.
We have approximately 700 students enrolled in our K-5 building. Each grade level has 100+ students in it. There can be over three hundred students on each playground during morning and lunch recesses! That means there are lots of interactions between groups of students.
My Project
I am requesting Townsend Press's book, Bullying in Schools and the book, Billy Bully, to use as a springboard to teach children about friendship and also how to deal with bullies. I am also requesting two Kindle Fires for my students to use during their literacy block so they can read online books dealing with friendship and bullying. There are so many wonderful books and Internet sites that my students will be able to access with the two Kindle Fires.
I want to teach my students how to be good friends and what to do if they are being bullied.
The book, Bullying in Schools will help me make important changes in my classroom. My students will be able to use the Kindle Fires to read online books about making friends and being a good friend. They will be able to find websites that deal with bullying and learn what to do if they are dealing with a class bully. The Kindle Fires will help them become good readers and good friends.
