All Ears Hear

My students need four sets of timers and two sets of Hear Myself Sound phones so that they can work on independent reading fluency

My Students

Reading fluency is one of the areas that my students need to be able to work on independently during our daily 5 activity time. I challenge students daily to become better readers for themselves so that they can enjoy the world of adventure that books bring.

My second grade students are mostly new readers that love the adventures that books bring to them.

However, several struggle with the words on the pages so that reading becomes more of a chore than an enjoyment. By practicing fluent oral reading and being able to hear themselves read, they will become more confident in their own abilities.

My Project

Both the timer and the earphones will be used at a Read to Self center. The students will be able to practice their reading fluency with the timers and at the same time hear themselves read using the whisper phones. These devices help a student listen to just themselves and not their neighbors

I have loved reading my whole life and want the children of my class to have the opportunity to become better readers for a lifetime.

Students want to be able to pick up a book at anytime and read to themselves using the phone so that they don't disturb their neighbor doing the same thing. Instilling the love of reading and developing fluent confident readers is the main goal of this project.
