This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My amazing 5th grade students are a bright, creative, and will make you laugh every day! They come from diverse backgrounds, and are mostly from low-income households. When it comes to learning, unfortunately, they do not have the opportunity to help supply the classroom with supplies or tools that we may need to learn and increase engagement. Many students are performing below their expected grade level requirements and would benefit from these items and tools to aid in their daily learning activities.

I hope you can help bring more smiles and the love of learning to my 5th grade classroom!

My Project

Most of my students live in poverty and don't have the capability to do laundry when they should. Our school has a washer and dryer and we do laundry daily for ALL students at the school. We also teach them how to to laundry which is a life long skill.

Seeing their smiles when then have clean clothes makes them feel like they are walking the red carpet!

Most students sleep in their jackets during the winter time and we only can wash so many coats at one time. This project will help us tremendously as we could stock our shelves and not have to worry about running to the store during our break. I would love any help you could give!
