This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My second graders are very motivated learners and deserve the very best each and every day. I teach at a Title I school where a lot of the students come from very unique households. I am so impressed with how much effort and success I see from my students.
Second grade is such a momentous year in a child's education.
They are reaching the turning point in becoming independent learners, but they are still young and have so much energy. It is my hope that I can continue to create an exciting, productive, and engaging atmosphere for my students to learn and grow. I hope that you will help us.
My Project
I have been so grateful for being funded for iPads that my students can use during their literacy and math centers. We use tablets daily to read or listen to books, to play games, and with our Osmos. Our iPads need to be charged every day, and this new charging station will allow us to be able to securely charge our iPads when they are not in use.
As of now trying to charge 5+ iPads is time consuming and often forgotten.
I'm constantly trying to rotate the iPads and make sure they are charged. It also takes up a lot of space and can get tangled with all of the cords. I would like to add my own 2 kindles for classroom use, but there's no where to charge them!
This charging system will allow students to use them successfully throughout the day. Being able to use this technology is one reason why students love independent centers. I will also be so happy to have a place to lock them at the end of the day.
