No more worksheets! As a school librarian, I like to assess my students understanding in a manner that does not involve worksheets.
There are approximately 650 students that are served in the library media center at my Oklahoma elementary school.
These students are in grades Kindergarten through 6th grade. These students enjoy visiting the library to check out books and for library lessons.
My Project
These resources will make for much more enjoyable assessment of the students. With the older students, I can use the white boards for students to write their answers. These can be used for an almanac or encyclopedia scavenger hunt. Students can locate the item and write their answer on the board. Students can show me the answer, and then I can see immediately who is understanding the concept and who needs a little more time. For the younger students, I can use the interactive story boards for retelling stories and working on other objectives that are specific to younger students.
These resources will make library lessons even more enjoyable.
These resources will take out the "Another worksheet?!" reaction that students sometimes feel. These resources are resources that can be used by all students in our school.
