This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come in every day eager to learn. Early on, we set high standards and my students work diligently to meet them. We strive to find new ways to make these high expectations fun and help each other along our journey.
My students enter from many different home situations to work together as a family in our classroom.
Many of my students are lacking some of the things needed to fulfill their basic needs. School is a place where they can come for safety, stability, and a sense that they can achieve anything.
My Project
Reading is a vital part of learning anything. Learning our letters and sounds is the first step in reading. This is a vital part of our Kindergarten learning.
Kindergarteners learn best with hands on activities.
These materials will be part of our daily literacy centers. These centers focus on the alphabet for the first chunk of the year. This is a very important learning time for my kids. This is their first attempt at learning letters. These materials will allow them to work on matching letters, building letters, writing letters, and identifying letters in a fun, hands on way! This will give them the start they need for Kindergarten.
