Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Have you ever heard a child ask, "Why do I have to learn this math?" Well then you know that students not always realize they need math to live in the real world and how it encompasses our everyday lives.
My students are fifth graders in a large city in Florida.
They attend a low income neighborhood school. Most of the students are English Language Learners with parents that work multiple jobs. They do not have a lot of resources to be able to purchase reading materials for home.
My Project
By providing our class with DynaMath magazine you will be showing them why math is so important in real world situations. Math becomes meaningful by being able to teach them the concepts by reading and applying math in exciting real-world stories. Each issue features over 40 motivating practice problems that challenge students to apply the math skills they need to know. The magazine also helps meet the new Common Core Standards that our state is adopting.
By donating to this project you will be providing students with the answer to the question of why math is so important and giving them the ability to read and practice math with real world experiences!
