This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are from a high poverty area. Not having much in life does not dim the light in their eyes from wanting to learn all that they can. My students are hard workers and eager to learn about new things. Reading an information story about ants is in our reading series. Students are fascinated by ants and ants have a lot to teach us. Studying about ants will show students the benefits of working together and working hard at a task. They have such potential to be whatever they want to be and this unit will help them learn some skill to help them in the future.

Growth is never by mere chance: it is the result of forces working together.

The books on ants will increase my students' reading ability and enjoyment on a topic they would really like to learn about. Help them be ants and try their best and persevere!

My Project

In our reading series we have a story about ants. I would like to bring this story to life by having the students actually see ants in action with a 3D ant farm, and books about ants. With these items, we can learn from how they work.

Through the study of ants, we will learn about their life cycle. Students will create art in the life of an ant. They will learn how working together benefits us as a society and how hard work and perseverance brings many benefits in daily life and studies.
