My Students
Hola, Ciao, Здравствуйте, Nǐ hǎo, and مرحبا are some of the ways students can say "Hello!" in my class. I am lucky enough to teach 29 students who ALL speak another language at home, in addition to learning how to read, write, and speak English in school.
Our class is like a box of crayons: everyone is different, but all differences are accepted and embraced.
They are smart, hard-working, caring second graders who love learning in different ways, including using songs, pictures, and hands-on materials.
My students are natural investigators. They love coming to school and asking questions. I love researching the answers with them and seeing their faces light up when things come to life.
My Project
Technology is such an important part of life today and it needs to be incorporated in the classroom! Not only will the tablet motivate students to practice math and reading skills on various apps, but it is also a reward that students with behavior outbursts can work towards. These Samsung tablets will create a better learning environment for all 29 students, not just a few.
I don't want my students to be bored of learning new things.
I want them to continue to be excited about learning! Many of my students are below grade levels us to language barriers; I believe having tablets and using the accessible apps will be the resource the students need to move closer towards 2nd grade reading levels and math skills.
Having Samsung tablets accessible on a daily basis would give my students the motivation to become better readers, writers, mathematicians, and life long learners.
