Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Although my students may not come from money, they more than make up for it in their drive for learning and succeeding in school. My students range in grades from kindergarten to sixth grade and come from very diverse backgrounds.
Although they are very different from one another, they all have one thing in common, they are from poor families.
All of my students want to succeed in school, and especially love creating art. Art is a way for my students to release their imagination and and take their minds off of their everyday worries.
My Project
I am requesting crayons, markers, colored pencils and drawing books. As an elementary art teacher, I have a lot of students and a little budget. Each type of art material will be used in a variety of ways.
Markers, crayons, and colored pencils will be used by all students to create colorful artwork expressing their own ideas.
Using the materials and being able to express their feelings in an artistic way is important to a life of my students.
New art supplies will give my students a sense of importance, they will see that investing in their lives makes them important.
