Every morning I am greeted with twenty smiling faces who say "Good morning Mrs. Reynolds". I teach at a Title One school and eighty percent of our school population is on free or reduced price lunch.
Classroom demographics are sixty percent African American, fifteen percent White, fifteen percent Hispanic and ten percent Indian.
All of my students are unique in their own way. Each child has varied academic levels. Some students need more challenging activities and other students need extra support and remediation. Regardless of the academic needs, my students are ready for a day of learning through hands-on activities, singing, and play.
My Project
Learning through play is the basis of Early Chilhood Education and all of these items will enhance the learning that occurs in my classroom. My students will be able to learn letters of the alphabet, letter sounds, and oral language skills with these materials. Students can use their imaginations and learn essential skills necessary for reading. These materials are suitable for all levels of academic abilities in my classroom. By having fun and exciting materials such as learning centers, folder games and teaching tubs, my students' overall school experience will be positive and engaging. Providing fun and engaging materials is the key to my students' success.
