My Students
Do you remember what it was like having to write ..erase..write..erase and your paper ends up either ripping or having to throw it away? It would be great for my students to be able to explore math concepts on a white board without worrying about paper.
We are a public school in Utah, my students have a variety of learning abilities.
Many of them having a difficult time writing on paper , but using a white board seems to make it easier! It is always exciting when I see my students eyes light up and a smile on their face because they are enjoying doing math.
My Project
Utah has adopted a new math program that goes along with the new Math Common Core. My students are required to do a lot of hands-on using different methods to be able to come up with a solution to a math problem. Having white boards enables to them to write their problem and fix it quickly if need be. I am also able to walk around and see easier if they are getting that concept. Those students who have a hard time writing enjoy math more because they don't have to worry about tearing their paper.
