My students need TI-84 graphing calculators for Algebra, and enough batteries to keep them calculating!

My Students
I teach in a small K-8 school in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn. There are fewer than 300 students in the entire school, and many of my seventh and eighth grade students have learned together since Kindergarten. Eighty three percent of the school's students are low-income, and 35% have some kind of disability.
My students are proud members of their school community.
While the school's test scores are low, only 32% test at grade level in English Language Arts, and 16% in math, the school is considered "high impact," meaning those scores are better than the expected outcomes given the school's demographics.
My Project
I teach an intrepid and curious group of fifteen students in the eighth grade who are taking high-school level algebra. They are preparing for the New York State Regents Algebra exam this year, and I have high hopes that they will all pass.
An essential tool in algebra is a graphing calculator, but my students don't have enough to go around, and most of the calculators we have need new batteries.
With the purchase of two more TI-84 calculators (the gold standard in mathematics!) and enough batteries to last us through the year (and next year, I hope!), I'm sure my students can succeed in algebra.
I've also requested some essential classroom supplies -- paper for handouts, and whiteboard markers -- to help keep my algebra class running. Thanks for your support!
