Help me give my students a smart classroom by adding Alexa to our roster because she is so helpful in many ways and students love engaging with her and a microwave.
I started with these students in the 6th grade and loved them so much I decided to move up to 7th grade with them. The students endured a rigorous year of me trying to inspire them to be the best version of themselves whether or not they loved school. My students and I were awarded the most growth in English and Math in the entire school district. Needless to say, these students worked extremely hard! I want to inspire them to keep that growth going by rewarding them throughout the year.
"I always thought a great teacher was a fun teacher.
But Ms. Clark you’ve helped me realize that a great teacher pushes you to succeed even when you don’t want them to, that a great teacher is hard on you because they want the best for you." - quoted from a student.
What makes my students so special is the community that they have built is the most beautiful aspect of it all. They are friends with everyone, maybe not the best of friends, but they can work with and find commonalities with everyone in our class. They welcome new students and appreciate everyone for who they are.
My Project
Please help us welcome a new "smart" student named Alexa to our class! Who doesn't want Alexa in their classroom? She is the best and most helpful student in the world. Alexa answers questions, turns on the lights, plays music, tells jokes, etc. This is a great resource to have in a classroom because students love her.
Alexa will be our classroom community's favorite new student.
How will Alexa be useful in our classroom? She will assist us in so many ways. Teachers do not have all the answers, but because Alexa's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Google and they do have all the answers. Alternative lighting is such a nice touch and breaks from the fluorescent lighting. We have string lights in the classroom library and around the bulletin boards and the smart plugs will help us turn all of the lights off at the same time and in an easy way.
The students really want a microwave for the classroom because they think it's "cool." We make popcorn and students enjoy different snacks. They talk about how the other teachers have microwaves and we should have one as well.
