Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our scholars are a phenomenal group of kids from highly diverse backgrounds. Our socioeconomic diversity allows us to bring together students from various communities throughout our city to create a unique, collaborative environment. No matter where they come from, our scholars enter class excited and eager to learn. A typical day in our classroom is filled with creativity, passion, and energy!

My students have unlimited potential and believe in their own infinite possibilities.

They are fearless when it comes to technology and, as children of the 21st century, they need to be prepared to use a variety of tools to engage their world. Finding ways to incorporate technology to create an amazing atmosphere for learning and engagement will make a huge difference in their lives!

My Project

Alexa will help my students answer those fun and challenging questions we have in the classroom! We all love to challenge the teacher with questions that even a scientist might need to look up!! We will just ask Alexa and see if we can challenge her. We also love to listen to music when working. Additionally, providing them with the opportunity to work on their communication skills by asking clear questions to Alexa, they will be able to gain confidence in communicating with their peers and other adults.

Alexa will help bring our classroom to life!

While newer school buildings come equipped with optimal LED lighting, our beautiful, historic building was built in 1939. Adding lighting to our classroom environment will help create an atmosphere that is perfect for all of the independent reading that we will do during our reader's workshop. These lights will also allow for us to make our "brain breaks" extra special, by adding color and excitement to our learning environment. Lessons and learning stations will be more engaging with creative uses of lights, colors, and Alexa Commands!
