Alaska Innovation 3D Printing to Innovatively Improve Unique Alaska Problems

Help me give my students access to 3D printer and Copernicus 3D printer cart to allow STEAM students to create, invent, and innovate anywhere in the school or even outside. Up to 250 kids will benefit from this.

My Project

In rural Nikiski, Alaska, we must import, or innovate to meet the unique Alaskan needs. A 3D printer will allow STEAM students to attempt to build solutions to common problems we all face like organizing charging cables, and unique problems to our part of Alaska.

Here, where Ice is like nothing you can imagine, there are weeks where we need ice cleats just to leave our house.

Yet metal cleats cannot be worn in stores and schools without damaging floors. Elderly and young alike slip, fall, and break bones every winter.

The 3D printer and cart will be the first addition to the "Innovation Lab" where students will be challenged to create solutions to problems like versatile ice safety gear, as well as help repair items by creating components that cannot be replaced.

Your contribution will impact 250 students and their families.
