it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our teacher team is so grateful to have obtained the Disney Musicals in Schools Mini-Residency grant, allowing our students to begin their Musical Theatre journeys by taking part in our Aladdin production this June. Our students are so excited to bring this production to our Bushwick Community. Their love for acting, singing, and dancing is ever-growing and the smiles they have in rehearsals are infectious.
This program is reaching a wide range of students at our school: grades 3-5, multi-language learners, students with disabilities, and students of all socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.
Because this is only our second year developing a theatre program in our Title I school, there are many resources we are missing to make this the amazing experience our students deserve.
My Project
The Wireless microphone system our team is asking for will allow our students to have the full experience of the Aladdin production. Since it is only our second production for our school, we want to make it memorable for our students, staff, and community. While we have a few handheld microphones we wanted more children to be able to be heard throughout the musical. With your help, our students will be able to put on a magical production for our school community, and for our Bushwick community as a whole. We know the most important things on the stage will be our students' amazing talents, but we also know that adding the materials we are asking for will add to their new-found confidence in a crucial way.
