My Students
My students, aged 12 - 21, are a very special group of young people enrolled in a class designated as "medically fragile". They have a variety of challenges, including vision, hearing and orthopedic impairments, and cognitive delays. Some of my students are nonverbal communicators, and some use wheelchairs for mobility.
My students are at a greater risk of lung and other health impacts from airborne viruses and the effects of seasonal smoke.
Opening windows is not always an option with their health concerns. It is essential that their learning environment, upon our return to school, is as clean as can possibly be!
My Project
My students, some with multiple disabilities, are among the most fragile students we have in our district. It is imperative that the air they breathe is free of airborne viruses, smoke and dust particles, and other allergens. This air purifier will ensure that the classroom air is as clean as it can possibly get, protecting our students from easily avoidable health impacts from COVID-19, wildfires, and refinery emissions. The commercial HEPA air purifier will also serve to assure parents that their student's health is paramount, in order to provide a safe learning environment.
