Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach an awesome group of middle school students. My students have the challenge of having special needs but are also mostly low-income students receiving a free or reduced-price lunch. They love to explore, investigate, and enhance their growing knowledge.
A classroom cooking area is the best way to show my students the benefits of preparing and consuming farm-to-table dishes.
I have four agricultural classes, and students are learning to farm and cook their food. Students will be working on our class garden to propagate fruits and vegetables. They will also be collecting eggs from our chickens. They will use these ingredients to make healthy and nutritious dishes in class. My students will need induction burners, cookware, and a rice cooker to successfully prepare farm-to-table dishes. Please help make this possible by donating to our project.
