My Students

I run an after school reading club for second and third graders who are reading below grade level. They need books that will entice them to read!

My students are second and third graders who are reading below grade level.

High school students come to our school two days a week after school to read with the students. What we need are BOOKS! My students are below grade level and have already experienced negative feelings about reading. We need to change that!

My Project

The books I've chosen include the Scaredy Squirrel series by Melanie Watt. These books are wildly popular and easy to read. Plus, they are hilarious! Mo Willems books about the Pigeon and Elephant and Piggie are always a hit. Dav Pilkey, a perennially favorite author, is also included. David Shannon's books about David, a boy who always gets in trouble, are also extremely fun to read.

My students need really cool books that will entice them to read and improve their reading skills!

We spend two days a week after school with high schoolers, practicing reading. What we need are really cool, awesome and hilarious books that will make kids want to read.
