This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Currently, I'm the steward for a Little Free Library that is posted outside our school and my students manage it by restocking it and keeping it clean. To promote literacy in our school, I give out rewards to students who come show me the book that they are reading. I have an average of 20 to 25 students come every day, excited to show me their books, talk to me about their books, and get a reward for it.
So, I now want to include rewards for math too!
I am going to give students a reward for finishing a financial literacy and other math "bell ringer" worksheets after school in my classroom as I do for students who show me the book they are reading. The mini claw machine will be a new way for students to get rewards that will motivate them even more. The capsules will be used to fill up with the Croc charms and enamel pins so students can grab them inside the mini claw machine. The snacks will be used inside the claw machine as well.
