African Student Struggling To Learn English In America
My students need a set of early readers, a set of emergent readers, sight word cards and vocabulary word cards.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. T.'s classroom raised $526
This project is fully funded
I teach a general education first grade class in a low income neighborhood. My students have a lot of potential, but they are already in jeopardy because they are entering school without the basics.
This year I am faced with the challenge of educating a student that does not speak any English. She has a strong desire to learn and I have the will to teach her. However, I am missing the resources needed to be a catalyst to her learning process. Many of the other students will benefit from the activities I plan because they do not have the basic skills needed to do well. Many of students do not know basic sight words.
The vocabulary cards and readers will help develop language, spelling and reading skills. My students will become engaged and build a sense of efficacy when they realize they can read and spell.
These resources will help me achieve my goal of making my students more comfortable with the english language. Your gift would be greatly appreciated and the reward would be knowing you helped build the foundation for greatly deserved students.
