My Project

This year I am teaching in a new setting. I am teaching in a dominantly African American student school which is also Title One. The items I picked for this project are to allow students to see positive representations of African American children and people. For example, I placed pictures of an African American boy and girl that I would like to have posted in the room as a reflection for themselves. I want them to look around the room and see themselves. I want them to come into the classroom and feel honored and loved. Most of all I want them to feel important because they are. They are capable of anything they set their minds to. Some of the resources also include clipboards, organization bins and headphones that will be used to keep the classroom organized and also allow the students resources in the classroom.
