My Project
Reading enhances my special education students’ ability to navigate their community and create meaningful relationships. It also helps them communicate with peers and community members by hearing positive examples of interactions and learning prosocial behaviors.
By providing high interest reading materials, they can experience the excitement of reading and navigating their world with confidence and independence.
My students will happily share with their friends and family favorite stories and have more opportunities to create a community for themselves. Students will see familiar and exciting characters engaging in preferred behaviors so they will more likely copy those behavior with peers and adults.
They will create community and soar higher with literacy skills!
