This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are excited about learning!

Most come from low-income families where reading and other educational materials are luxury items.

Additionally, our class contains children from diverse backgrounds and circumstances. Many come from homes where English is not spoken or not spoken fluently, some are in the foster care system, and some have physical and/or speech challenges to overcome. Fortunately, at this age, all students benefit greatly from experiences and touchable, movable manipulatives, so I try to provide these opportunities as much as possible. When you donate to our classroom, you are changing lives! Thank you!

My Project

Growing up, I loved learning about different cultures around the world. I also appreciated stories that were, well...just plain good--no political agendas.

This collection of books consists of stories that teach important social skills and a love for family, stories that remind us of those who came before, stories that feature various cultures around the world and invite listeners to participate in both joys and sorrows through vivid vocabulary.

Adventures though books will likely be our only opportunity for field trips this year. So, I have tried to pull together some of the best options that are appropriate for this particular group. If you would be so kind as to help finance our journeys, I would appreciate it.
