This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are eager for stories that keep them turning the page—and Holes by Louis Sachar and Hatchet by Gary Paulsen are exactly that.
These two novels captivate readers with tales of survival, resilience, and unexpected friendships.
Whether it's Stanley Yelnats digging for answers at Camp Green Lake or Brian Robeson learning to survive alone in the wilderness, both characters inspire students to reflect on courage, problem-solving, and personal growth.
We’re requesting 30 copies of each book so every student can engage in rich discussions, respond to powerful themes, and grow as confident, independent readers. Your donation brings these unforgettable adventures into our classroom and into students’ hands—many of whom don’t have access to books at home.
Thank you for helping us build a community of passionate, thoughtful readers!
