Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are excited and eager to learn, but unfortunately do not have the necessary resources the standards that I know they can achieve! My students constantly want to read new material and get excited to read new stories that allow them to explore new ideas, characters, and practice new skills that they are learning. Even though many of my students are at a lower reading level than what was expected, I see everyday how all of the students in my classroom want to become stronger. More proficient readers and I want to do everything I can to help them achieve their goal!

My Project

These materials will help my students become more proficient readers by giving them the tools they need to succeed. My students live in a lower socioeconomic town and many cannot afford to buy their own books. Furthermore, the books that the district has does not properly support my students needs. By having these books, I will be able to properly foster my students abilities and allow them to more rapidly increase their reading levels to prepare them for second grade. At the moment, with my lack of resources, I am quickly running out of stories and materials that my students can effectively read to help increase their reading skills.
