My students need texts to prepare themselves for the AP English exams.

Of course students are being left behind! In an effort to reach out to the mainstream reader and those who struggle to read, we are forgetting about a significant portion of our student population: the Advanced Program students! As the librarian in a high school where we have the Advanced Program, many times this program is not deemed as important since these students are seem as having lesser needs. This is not true!
In an effort to address the students being "left behind," the Advanced Program students are being neglected. They need to prepare for college and the AP test and need to texts to do so.
I need to better prepare students for their future by having these books/plays/poetry collections in the library for them. I have created this wish list in accordance with the AP college board's list of texts addressed in the AP test.
By assisting with this proposal, you will be reaching out to an underfunded and under-appreciated population of our high schools that deserves recognition...the advanced Placement student!
