My Project
I am seeking your support to enhance our literacy resources for students in Grades 3-5 with engaging activities that teachers can use for small group instruction where they focus on students who need extra support. I am the reading interventionist at my school as well as the reading resource - as part of my role, I focus a great deal on students who require extra reading support and in mentoring teachers on using effective intervention strategies with those students during small group. Your donation will help me provide essential books, educational games, and other literacy resources that are crucial for advancing our students' analytical reading skills and fostering a lifelong love of learning. Teachers will be provided with anchor charts that students can reference for key literacy concepts like main idea, theme, and context clues in addition to grammar posters for students to reference during their writing.
Grades 3-5 are a crucial time for students as they transition from learning to read to reading to learn and high-quality literacy materials will enable our students to develop more complex comprehension and writing skills, preparing them for future academic challenges and fostering a lifelong love of learning.
This project will provide teachers with access to various resources to use in their small group instruction where teachers focus greatly on students who need more academic support to help them advance more complex skills like inferencing, context clues, as well as various kinds of writing (informational, narrative, summary).
