Help me give my students some amazing books such as the Penderwick Series (a National Book Award winner) and Mr. Lemoncello's Fantastic Boxed Set to our voracious readers!
What happens when students are reading above grade level but they're not ready for some of the content in upper-level books? It's important to have appropriate books for the students in 2nd-4th grade that are reading above their grade level.
Our high performing students need to have books that are engaging and have content that is appropriate for their age.
In doing research on high-interest books for elementary students, I've found some great titles that would be great for my students in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade.
My Project
This project will fund a section of my reading library geared toward higher level readers. It will be a special bookshelf with engaging messages, quotes, and snippets from the books to entice students. The books included in this project span reading levels, as well as genres, and the high-level students will love them! Many of these books are award-winning books that have been featured in blogs and articles.
Great readers will help guide the interests of the rest of the class.
Let's get them into phenomenal books that their peers will aspire to read! Their interest and reading levels can only go up from here!
