My Students
The students at my school come from all walks of life but when they walk through the door, everyone is equal. Students quickly realize that the teachers at their school are hard-working, engaging, motivating, funny, passionate and want everyone to learn and absorb their passions.
Different ethnicities, home lives, spoken languages, socio-economic backgrounds, parental support and living environments are characteristic of our school despite the reputation for being a well-off school in a district of more than 50 elementary schools.
My Project
I am fortunate to have five iPad minis (with protective cases and durable headphones) currently available for student use in my classroom. But, due to larger class size, I have more students than my existing rotation schedules allow, which means not all students get the opportunity to use an iPad everyday.
My students love using iPads during small reading, writing and math groups in order to review and practice newly learned concepts and skills because iPads are engaging and fun!
Having one more iPad in the classroom would allow for every single student to use an iPad during small Reading Groups, Math Groups and Writing Groups 1-2 times a day.
